Terms of Service
Last updated 5 November 2026
Draft template for review. These terms must be checked by a solicitor, and the bracketed details completed, before Dwello takes payments from the public.
These terms are the agreement between you and [COMPANY NAME] Ltd for using Dwello. Please read them before you create an account. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Dwello.
1. About Us
Dwello is run by [COMPANY NAME] Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number [COMPANY NUMBER]) with its registered office at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. You can contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
2. Who Can Use Dwello
- You must be 18 or over and live in the UK.
- You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep your login details secure. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person per account. If you invite people to your household, they need their own account and agree to these terms too.
3. What Dwello Does
Dwello helps you plan, cost, track and share home renovation projects. It includes project planning tools, budgets and payment records, mortgage tools, an AI assistant (DwelloBot), AI valuation estimates and a community where people share their renovations.
4. Estimates, AI and Advice
- Cost breakdowns, budgets, DwelloBot answers, mortgage figures, rates and valuation estimates are guides only. They are produced from typical data, public information and AI, and can be wrong.
- They are not quotes, surveys, valuations, structural, legal, tax or financial advice. Always get written quotes from qualified tradespeople, a RICS-registered surveyor or valuer for valuations, and a qualified mortgage adviser before borrowing.
- You’re responsible for decisions you make about your home, including building regulations, planning permission, party wall matters and safety.
- Mortgage information is not a recommendation. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
5. Plans, Payments and Free Trials
- Dwello has a free Basic plan and paid Premium and Pro plans. Current prices and what each plan includes are shown on the sign-up page and in your account. Premium is £14.99 a month and Pro £29.99 a month, with discounted annual options.
- Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial, once per person. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged and the plan renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- Payments are taken by Stripe. We don’t see or store your full card details.
- Each plan includes a monthly AI allowance. When it’s used up, AI features pause until the next month; everything else keeps working.
- We may change prices. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
6. Cancelling and Refunds
- You can cancel at any time in Profile → Subscription. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then move to Basic. Your data stays.
- Your right to cancel: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can cancel a new paid subscription within 14 days of buying it. Because the free trial lets you try the service first, and you ask us to start the paid service straight away when the trial ends, we may deduct a fair amount for the service you’ve used if you cancel in that 14-day window.
- Otherwise, payments are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise or we’ve made a mistake.
7. Your Content
- You own the photos, videos, documents and words you add (“your content”).
- You give us a licence to store, process and display your content so we can run Dwello for you. If you share a post publicly, you also allow other users to view, like, comment on, repost and pin it, and allow us to show it in the community and promote Dwello with it. You can delete posts at any time; copies may remain in backups for a short time.
- Only share content you have the right to share, and follow the Community Guidelines. Don’t share other people’s personal details, house numbers, number plates or children.
- Money figures and addresses are private unless you choose to share a cost breakdown on a post.
8. Acceptable Use
Don’t misuse Dwello. That includes breaking the law, harassing people, posting anything in breach of the Community Guidelines, trying to get around plan limits or the AI allowance, scraping, reverse engineering, overloading the service, or using DwelloBot for anything other than your renovation. We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these terms.
9. Our Intellectual Property
The Dwello name, logo, design, software and DwelloBot are owned by us or our licensors. You can use them only as part of using Dwello.
10. Availability and Changes
We work to keep Dwello available and your data safe, but we can’t promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features. If we make a change that significantly reduces a paid feature, we’ll tell you and you can cancel.
11. Our Responsibility to You
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
- We’re not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for decisions you make based on estimates or AI output, for work carried out by tradespeople you hire, or for losses you could have avoided by following our guidance.
- Dwello is for personal use. If you use it for business (for example as a landlord or developer), our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Ending Your Account
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law stops us. If we close a paid account without good reason, we’ll refund any unused prepaid period.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. We’ll tell you about important changes by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Dwello after that means you accept the new terms.
14. Complaints
If something goes wrong, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL]. We aim to reply within 5 working days. Report community content with the Report button on any post.
15. Law and Courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
