tomfletchLiving room finished. Replastered, new skirting and cornice to match the original, and the fireplace restored. Plenty of furniture back in now and it finally feels like a room we want to sit in.

aisha_renovatesMain bedroom refresh. Nothing structural, just new plaster on one wall that was blown, soft grey paint, new carpet and blinds, and we finally put the bed on the long wall. Calmest room in the house now.

priya_at_no12We opened up the fireplace in the front room. It had been boarded over since the 70s. Had the chimney swept and surveyed first, then a new hearth and a simple surround. Living room finally has a focal point that isn't the TV.

dan_k_homeEngineered oak herringbone is down in the living room. Our fitter had to level the old floorboards with ply first, which added two days, but it was worth it. Leave plenty of time for the boards to acclimatise before laying.

jamesbuildsLast bit of the extension project: a new patio so the bifolds open onto something other than mud. Porcelain slabs laid on a proper sub-base with a slight fall away from the house. Ready for next summer.

sophie_renovatesAdded an island to the kitchen. We had the space but it was dead floor before. Now it's extra worktop, storage and a spot for the kids to do homework while I cook. Needed an extra electrics run under the floor for the sockets.

scandi_graceStripped the old carpet off the staircase and found decent timber underneath. Sanded, filled and finished with a clear matt oil, and the walls painted white. Simple, cheap and so much lighter.
